PRONUNCIATION PRACTICE: SILENT LETTERS (r, l, and s)

In honor of the silent “r” in February, this month’s words all have silent letters (r, l, and s). Watch below ⬇️⬇️ and see the 

  • February = FEB-yu-ware-i
  • Lincoln = LINK’n
  • Talk = tawk
  • Walk = wawk
  • Could = cood (the “oo” like “wood,” “book,” and “foot”) * Would = wood * Should= shood
  • Half = HAFF
  • Salmon = SAM-m’n
  • Chalk = chawk
  • Folk = fawk
  • Illinois = ill-ih-NOY (“noy” rhymes with “boy”)
  • Arkansas = AR-k’n-saw
  • Aisle = AI-yuhl (same as “isle” and “I’ll)
  • Island = AI-lund
