- Talk = tawk
- Walk = wawk
- Could = cood (the “oo” like “wood,” “book,” and “foot”) * Would = wood * Should= shood
- Half = HAFF
- Salmon = SAM-m’n
- Chalk = chawk
- Folk = fawk
- Illinois = ill-ih-NOY (“noy” rhymes with “boy”)
- Arkansas = AR-k’n-saw
- Aisle = AI-yuhl (same as “isle” and “I’ll)
- Island = AI-lund
